There's also a conditioned reflex to see revolution as bad because, hey, if your last revolution went well, you or you descendents probably wouldn't be living in Canada. The event that created Canada was a series of committee meetings, not a revolution, so there's no aura of romanticism to blind us to reality.
This is a country that took 40 years to decide on a flag and a century to pick words to the national anthem, where one of our rebellions (Upper Canada 1837) got derailed because the rebels stopped for a beer. You want a glorious revolution, don't hire a Canadian.
