Ha! I did exactly the same thing with music, except the expansion of my musical horizon happened in college, which happily coincided with the birth of Napster. I downloaded so many songs at random and don't have the faintest idea what decade most of them are from, but I did discover a horrible weakness for the electric guitar. (Seriously, "Sweet Child of Mine"? I make people stop talking during the intro.)

Oh geez, I want to do a real music post now.
