Yeah, that's actually how I am affected -- sort of admiring from the distance but somehow not quite being sucked in by the narrative. I don't know.. they might also improve upon rereadings. They feel like books that really need to be soaked in.

*nods* It's so lovely to find a writer who speaks your language! I always feel that way about Gaiman. Sometimes I'll be reading a passage and it's a little like, "Oh yes. Of course that's how one would say that."
