So You Think You Can Dance, S3 Top 6
Tue, Aug. 14th, 2007 01:21 amWHOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Sabra and Danny made it to the finale!
Muhaha, you all thought my silence on SYTYCD meant you were spared the dorky dance show talk, but you are wrong! I have just been too busy with RL stuff and IBARW lately to blog about it, but rest assured, I have been watching as dedicatedly as one can.
Some of my favorite routines from the past few weeks:
Er, if you couldn't tell, I am a bit of a Sabra fan.
I am a little disappointed that out of the mostly POC guys, only one made it to the top 3 guys, though I am deeply happy that Sabra is still in the game and am rooting for her to win. Also, I'm hoping to see her and Danny dance together because technically, I think they are the best of the four. So. Rooting for Sabra, will be happy for Danny, will be somewhat grumpy if Lacey wins, and will be very grumpy if Neil wins. I like him better now than I did before, but I think he's still not that great all-around, particularly when it comes to ballroom.
Also, am still mad at Lauren for the "I sometimes pretend I am Chinese and go into auditions as 'Mischa Chen'" thing, but now I do not have to watch her!

Some of my favorite routines from the past few weeks:
- Sabra and Dominic's hip-hop routine, which is sweet and cute
- The top 12 dancers do lindy!!!!! It is not the most exciting lindy ever, but I do not care, because it is my dance! I was just happy to see steps that I know how to do!
- Sabra and Pasha's quickstep, because as illustrated, I go crazy for anything twenties.
- Sabra and Neil's corporate takeover jazz

Tue, Aug. 14th, 2007 06:34 pm (UTC)Also the Lauren as Mischa Chen, seriously what the hell was that? I had never noticed her as a contestant before and I went from ignoring her to instant hatred. Good job Lauren.

Tue, Aug. 14th, 2007 09:09 pm (UTC)You mean Lacey? ;)
I am so angry that Pasha is gone instead of Neil that I can barely stand it.
Grrr. I am a little less mad about it, but that is only because I am suffused with relief that Danny and Sabra got in and Lauren didn't. Never let it be said that I am not petty! I am so rooting for Sabra! I am in fact tempted to not go to lindy tomorrow so I can watch and vote because I am just that dorky.

Tue, Aug. 14th, 2007 11:49 pm (UTC)Sorry I worded that awkwardly. I meant that my 3 favorites almost from the beginning were Sabra, Danny and Sara and that I'm glad that at least two of them made it this far. Lacey I can take or leave, I liked her in the beginning but lately I just feel kind of eh about her.

Tue, Aug. 14th, 2007 09:55 pm (UTC)I do love ballroom dancing as a specific style, but Lacey rubs me the wrong way - there's a lot of good technique but not enough heart and soul. Or something.
Neil... doesn't really move me in the same way as Danny, or Pasha, or, for that matter, Hok, who was kind of my inner favourite even though I knew he'd never make it to the end.

Tue, Aug. 14th, 2007 10:28 pm (UTC)Sigh. I am still sad about Hok, even though technically speaking, he did do that well. Ditto with Dominic. And Jesus. Neil always reads as a little awkward to me, but that is possibly because he is more awkward with ballroom/partner dances, and that is what I am most familiar with.
