Heroes 1x17 Company Man

Wow.
Just... wow.
To get minor stuff out of the way first:
- Matt wasn't boring, yay! Although I had conniptions when he was rampaging around the Bennet household without gloves or anything. I feel when one has been put on probation from the police force, one should worry somewhat about being caught breaking and entering. Though wow, I wonder what they'll do with him now?
- the Haitian returns and continues to be cool! We need a name soon; I feel stupid calling him the Haitian every time. Also, kid!Hatian!
- baby!Hiro! Mr. Nakamura as part of the conspiracy! So... does Mr. Nakamura know about Hiro? He doesn't seem to be the kind of person to break the rules, although really, who knows?
- Who was the brunette in the lab? Please be a cool female character who doesn't die, please?
- Claude and Mr. Bennet partnership flashbacks! I started yelling at the TV when I realized it was Claude: "AWESOME!" *waves arms at TV* "AWESOME!" Also, they were on Claude's pigeoncoop building roof!
- From the previews: Simone! Be not dead! Be a secret superpowered person! Need more women, particularly more women of color. I am desperately hoping it's not a dream sequence.
The really, really, incredibly awesome stuff:
- Claire! CLAIRE! SO MUCH LOVE! For the "shoot me!" and for trying to get her mom and Lyle out, for never sitting back when she can try and help, for her giant heart, for her walking out of the house covered with soot with her skin mostly burnt off. And oh, those last scenes. I love so much that she picks out his glasses, that that's the first moment we see in the flashbacks of him loving her and really not being afraid to show it, no matter how reluctant he was in the beginning. And I feel she is complex enough to love him and to know what he did was wrong and to hold all that in her head at the same time.
- Mr. Bennet! He's still so freaking creepy, and yet he completely sells me on how much he loves his family, no matter how wrong his actions are (teacups? Oh come on). And oh, he's not going to remember anything about protecting Claire at all, is he? Gah, that part kills me.
coffeeandink has great commentary on the glasses and defining moments and family.
- Mrs. Bennet! Thank you, show! Thank you for making her not frivolous and flighty, for giving her her own strength to stand by Claire. Granted, I am not religious, nor would I trust someone who brainwiped me, but those moments with Claire were awesome.
- Did I by the way mention Claire walking out of the burning house?! Because oh, my girl, I love you so much!
