oyceterLe sigh. The sister person and B leave tonight, and me and Rachel must leave tomorrow.
We have not yet had Portuguese-style egg tarts, which is a horrific oversight that must be corrected forthwith. We have also not yet gone to Xi Men Ding, a fashionable shopping district that is bustling with people, stalls, and food, but hopefully we will be able to do that before the sister and B must head off to the airport.
On the other hand, I have had about four separate instances of crab; gone to Ding Tai Fong, home of the best soup dumplings and chicken soup and most other dumplings ever; had ten little egg cakes shaped like eggs, fresh off the griddle on the streets of Hsinchu; eaten candied strawberries on a stick while attempting to outrun the sudden downpour and trying not to stab myself in the mouth; and in general eaten about three times my body weight. I think one of the best meals has been a multi-course Japanese feast, which included black sesame agedashi tofu, only with the tofu replaced by some black sesame thing, along with the insane seafood extravaganza my aunt cooked up yesterday.
I am very happy, and will probably be full for the next month.
