Hey, I liked this one! Well, I gritted my teeth over some of the things (note to writers: a 16-year-old will not be the youngest person to win a gold in figure skating, did you all forget about Tara Lipinski?), but I might have missed bits of the dialogue explaining (maybe it was the youngest Canadian?). Also, her mother could do a triple axel? I feel they are not that common among female skaters, given that Kimmie Meissner was the first American to land one in competition.

Anyhoo, probably no one cares about the ice-skating bits but me.

But this really was much, much better than the first two episodes.

I was originally rolling my eyes when Morgan complained about the Devil taking the soul of a six-year-old. I mean, he's the Devil! Morgan, you've worked for the guy for 600 years, how can it be that you never came across something like that? Then they said the Devil thought taking the souls of children was generally not fun, so I guess that works.

But still, I keep wanting to bop Morgan on the head for complaining about things being unfair and etc, because he is working for the Devil and has been for six hundred years! One would think you'd get used to it or at least grow to expect stuff like that.

I found I really liked Isabelle; she felt real in a way that the other characters haven't so far (not even Morgan). She was scared and incredulous and still wanted to try stuff and help, and even though I saw the Tammy thing coming from the first five minutes, I was still touched by Isabelle's gesture. Especially because she wasn't doing it to save herself; she thought she was using her own time. The twist in the end with her dad was also excellent.

I continue to dislike the reporter, probably just because the actress isn't that great, but her kid is being interesting.

The ex-hooker continues to be boring.

So I shall continue watching, though this is still my knit-with-mohair show (aka, I don't concentrate that much on it).

I believe it was Tanya Harding who landed the first triple axel in competition. Not that anyone ever remembers that about her.

I haven't googled or anything so I could be completely wrong.

Following is a flaming hunk of unjustified knee-jerk opinion courtesy of yours bitchily

Tanya Harding is she-who-must-never-be-mentioned in the skating world so don't expect to hear anyone saying anything about her in the context of women doing triple axels. No one's been doing them since because they haven't needed to.

Artistry in skating (whatever that means - to me it's come to mean crappy music and icky costumes with way too much of that fake nude insert stuff that never manages to look anything like real skin) has been given (too much, IMO) precedence over athleticism in reaction to TH. Thus, all the women skaters seem to be pretty much interchangeable wannabe clones of Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen. With the exception of Irena Slutskaya, whom I adore.

Therefore, Kimmie's doing the triple A is an easy way for her to be differentiated from all the others. Except for the several Japanese skaters who are also doing, or attempting, to do it.
