My stand mixer has outsmarted me

So apparently, whenever I knead bread in my stand mixer for too long, the motion somehow screws the workbowl in more securely.

In other words, I cannot for the life of me detach the thing.

It's a KitchenAid Artisan. Does anyone have any tips? It's not really urgent, but I'd like to wash it someday...

A small application of WD-40 to the screw, perhaps? It apparently comes in a pen dispenser (http://www.wd40.com/Brands/wd40_no_mess_pen.cfm) now, which would probably make it easier for such a task.

I was scared of that...

Thankfully, I managed to get it out by some judicious application of cooking oil. And a whole lot of tugging...

Pour in some ice cold water and hopefully that will shrink the metal enough for it to turn. The same thing happened to me, but I had not yet thought of or learned about this method and it took a while to undo. Maybe putting a warm towel around the base will help to expand that metal.

I was going to try that next! Thankfully, I managed to get it out by dripping a little cooking oil around the base.
