Fool-rat had been declining pretty steadily for the past few months. Just a few hours ago, he started hacking and wheezing; he couldn't eat much (he would play nibble at things but not swallow), and he didn't seem to be drinking water either.

I went to the vet with him, and I left with just his cage.

He was a most excellent rat, and I miss him a lot already.

Oh, no. I'm so sorry. I've been bracing myself for this since I saw him last (and I'm glad I did get to cuddle him then.) He was such a sweetie.
