oyceter: Pea pod and peas with text "peas please" (peas)

My friend took pictures of the Ferry Building trip and shared! He's also a much, much better photographer than me.

There aren't as many as the Italy ones under here, so your bandwidth is mercifully spared (at least, a bit).

Oysters! Yes, they are raw, mmmmm. They taste like the ocean, but the brine fades to the background after you swallow it, and this one almost had a sweet finish. I think these are Hog Island Atlantic oysters. (I keep typing "oyster" and thinking it should be spelled "oyceter" instead).

Heirlooms! So beautiful!

Even more! The dark, bumpy, really ugly ones are black brandywines, and they are the most delicious things ever. The green ones are zebras, which I also love, and the yellow ones are slightly fuzzy peach tomatoes. I don't know about the rest, sadly.

I really wish I got some of the cherry tomatoes, but I bought a lot the next day anyway.

Mmmmm mushrooms....

Teeny weeny apples! I forgot what they're called, but they're about the size of a very large cherry tomato.

Cranberry beans! Sadly, the bean itself isn't bright red, but it's a sort of ivory/yellow with dark purplish/brown stripes.

Lunch #2 -- turkey pot pie, which was surprisingly good; meatloaf, which is always tasty; and a smidgen of mac and cheese, which was tasty but not spectacular.

A close-up of the mac and cheese and sausages on sticks!

I love California, I really do.

The Ferry Building proper.

The Ferry Building looks out to this -- these booths are arts and crafts things. By the time my friend had taken this picture, the farmers' market had left =(.

They want how much for chanterelles? Wow. They are somewhat cheaper here, probably because we should have them popping out of the ground in nearby national forests any day now.

I like the photo of the basil lording it over the gorgeous tomatoes.
