So this thesis chapter was only 18 pages, sigh. And it sucked.
Anyway, it was done, so I awarded myself with the new Buffy!
- Spike gets all sorts of nasties crawling into bodily cavities now: a warning unto all ye who wish for a soul!
- So strange seeing Willow called to LA after the fact. And Buffy doesn't know Willow's bringing Faith back! Nyaha.
- Spike's accent was definitely wonky after the first flashback, but I figured it may have been a William accent creeping back out.
- Giles is very creepy. The references back to the Gift and the non-sacrifice of Dawn and the killing of Ben... wow. I feel as though something has changed Giles from the man who came back to save Willow from herself. Either that, or he just hates Spike?
- Wood is scary too.
- I love William. He's a sweet boy.
- But I think Spike may have been wrong. I think his mother did love him, but that she may have occasionally thought those things she said, however cruel they were. Everyone gets annoyed at times. I don't think it's as easily separable as demon and man/woman... maybe Spike thinks this now though because he's regained control over his monster and would like to believe that he can be all man now?
- I wish I could have seen Angelus' reaction to the story of Spike turning his mother
- Loved the return of geeky Giles and the concern over the library
They were very harsh on Wood, especially Spike. Although I think mostly Spike was projecting what he thought about Buffy onto Nikki, that it was all about the mission and that love wasn't enough. I wonder if Spike would want Buffy to stop being a Slayer? But no question about it, he's got his edge back. I seriously thought he was going to kill Wood for a second.
I wonder if Buffy's statement about Dawn was what ghostly!Joyce was indicating.
I wonder if Faith will be able to pull Buffy away from the any sacrifice is necessary mentality. I'm kind of unsure now as to whether we're supposed to think Buffy's mentality is right or not. I keep feeling she's alienating anyone who can help her, except potentially Spike, and that this will turn out to be a disaster.
More thoughts tomorrow after I watch again!
