Veronica Mars 1x13-1x14
Tue, Sep. 6th, 2005 01:48 amLook! I have a shiny new VMars icon!
1x13 Lord of the Bling
Whoo! More backstory! So Yolanda was the girl Logan kissed and therefore the reason why Lilly was alone that night! And Veronica feels bad telling Lilly. Actually, I sort of wonder how Veronica ended up being friends with Lilly and Duncan and Logan anyhow. Their personalities seem a bit off. I guess a large part of that is the Big Change?
I adored watching Veronica and Keith working together, which we never quite get to do. There are still a few too many incidences of Veronica disobeying Keith to no real effect, but I guess they have to throw that in so that we can see Veronica doing stuff. Show's not really called "Keith Mars."
The mysteries of the week could be so very, very boring, but they weave so much backstory and character development into each episode that they aren't. I still feel a little bad for Logan, but not that much. Mostly when he pulled out the lighter and told Duncan what he thought.
Also, that last bit, with him appearing at the door totally got a OMGWTFBBQEEP! from me ^_^.
1x14 Mars vs. Mars
I think the reason why I get bored easily with the A plot is that they are fairly predictable. Basically, take whatever assumption Veronica has in the beginning, and then figure out that the exact opposite will happen by the end of the story. Wasn't too fond of the teacher-student sex storyline, just because there seems to be absolutely no good way to tell it. I do wish that they had put a bit more into the Mars vs. Mars part; while there was tension between Veronica and Keith, most of it was actual case-work, which is fairly boring for me.
I have no idea why Logan stops being as much of a jackass as he normally is around Veronica. Man, the kid is violent! Eep.
Also, I always feel strange when Veronica rummages through things she shouldn't be, especially when it's something very personal, like medical files. It makes me feel squicky. Have a suspicion Logan's mom will eventually turn up, otherwise, why have the storyline drag on like this at all?
The really good thing about the Lilly Kane case and Veronica's rape is that I have no clue about where to begin, even. The other mysteries feel fairly easy to solve, or at least to anticipate.
Abel Koontz is incredibly creepy. And dying. Man.
But! My absolute, absolute favorite part of the episode was Keith's prank with the safe! That was awesome!
