Thanks to melymbrosia's post a while back, I found this... Old Sunfire historical romances for teens. All the books are named after the main character (i.e. Susannah, Emily, etc.). Guh, I had completely forgotten about these! Obviously my romance reading tendencies go waaaaay back. I got them off the Scholastic book order sheets, which were really prized back in grade school. I mean, how else was I supposed to get English language books in Taiwan?

I remember these and finding Emily and Diana in the school library. I loved Emily. I think the last scene spawned an idea for a novel that's still in my head today. I really really really want to dig it up again and read the original now. I also had Amanda and Susannah. Loved Amanda, which fed my then ongoing fascination with the Oregon Trail and the hardships of traveling West.

Wow. This just spawned major nostalgia. Must find one of my friend's email addresses just so I can foist these on her.

I screamed with joy when you posted this! I loved these books when I was in junior high. I would check out all of them from the school library and practically devour them. I think my favorite was Roxanne. I just loved that time period and the background of the old Hollywood studio system. I really want to get my hands on a copy but every bookstore I've been to doesn't have it. =(
