More rat spam!

I had a great deal of fun with the boy's new digital camera yesterday and took tons of pictures of the rats. For some reason, the boy's camera takes better pictures than mine.

Warning, the pictures are really big. And there are a ton of them.

Eee, yes! I am so enamoured of the fact that they have four fingers, for some reason. Just... so small!

So small, and yet so deft and fast....aww, and little tiny toenails. ((embarrasses self))

Yes! Well, until you have to actually try and clip the little toenails, which becomes a mighty struggle to get the poor rat to hold still so you can see.

Awwww. -- d00d, I don't even try to clip my cats' toenails. They're like "Unh-UH. Don't think so. Back off, primate, with your sharp grooming tools."

You know our way-way-way-way-way back ancestor is a little mammal that looks a lot like a rat, right? Forget its name but one detail stuck with me -- its footbones were the size of rice grains....
