Blech

Well, instead of packing up the kitchen like I was going to, I spent most of the weekend sleeping in, watching anime, reading manga and lazing around.

Le sigh.

I'm having a tough time getting motivated to finish packing. Ah, the problems of dragging a move out over the space of a month. On the other hand, if it hadn't been over the space of a month, I probably would have driven myself crazy trying to get everything done in a shorter amount of time.

On the other hand, I did buy a washer/dryer. The new phone line has been ordered, all relevant utilities have been contacted, reservations are made. Mostly all that needs to be done now is figure out furniture with my mom, figure out the logistics of selling my shelves, and packing up the rest of my books, the kitchen, and assorted random stuff and moving. Gah. Almost there!

A Kenmore front-load washer! It was one of the cheaper front-loads, but still a bit pricier.

Still.. front load! It won't do that horrible off-balance clunky OMG the house is coming down thing!

The washer/dryer is key. It's nice that the current apartment has one too, but I think the new one will be quieter, so hopefully I can do laundry late at night, muhahaha.

My poor mom called me right after I finished Samurai Champloo, and I was horribly brusque with her and couldn't explain why ("Um, yes, I don't want you to call because I'm still recovering from the end of this really good anime...").

Yay! We have a Frigidaire, but it's essentially the same--Frigidaire makes the same washer for Sears under Sears' brand name. We love it, and it has been behaving like a good washer so far.

It's a sign of...something I won't name...that washers have become an object of happiness for me.
