I'm in Mariposa with rachelmanija right now! We've already watched two episodes of Samurai Champloo. I've decided that Fuu is fun, the animation is really interesting, and I adore the music. Does anyone know who Fuu's voice actress is? I keep thinking is Hayabarashi Megumi, but that may just be because she's the voice actress for Faye.

Also, Fuu's obi string thing is tied in the front, but her obi is tied in the back, and I can't figure out if that's normal or not. Huh.

And Rachel made 20-clove garlic chicken, with bacon!

Unfortunately, this was preceded by a very, very, very long drive. I started out from home at 2. I got here at 7:30. The drive is only supposed to take two and a half hours, but everyone and their mother was apparently going to Mariposa today.

You know traffic is bad when you start swearing and talking to yourself and then start cheering when you go above 25 miles per hour. Grrrrr.

Blueberry scones and lemon curd tomorrow, and much manga tonight! Whoo!

Squeee, Champloo!

Fuu's voice actress is Kawasumi Ayako, who I don't think I know from anything else except maybe Sara in the "Angel Sanctuary" OAV. Mugen is Nakai Kazuya (who I totally watched five minutes of as Zoro in "One Piece" and went "MUGEN MUGEN IT'S MUGEN") and Jin is Sato Ginpei (who I definitely haven't seen in anything else but I now expect GREAT THINGS).

I know! I was expecting him to look forty a la Roy's voice actor in FMA. (Whom I still fangirl like a mad fangirl thing.) He did a great job with Jin's quiet intensity. The English Jin voice actor tries well but mostly manages to sound bored.
