Tree!!!

I have a Christmas tree!!!!! (thank you cychi for the help!)

It is all sparkly and lit up and has ornaments and smells lovely and is Christmasy and I have carols playing and eeeeeeeeeee!!!!! TREE!!!!

The sad thing is that because it is my tree and not my family's tree, my ornaments only date back to when I moved here =(. So there are only two years worth of history on the tree, as opposed to the twenty-some years of mixed and matched ornaments, broken ornaments, random things that me and my sister did that's at home. But still! Tree!! I put it up and remembered putting up the tree in Taiwan despite no one else in the family really caring and listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Mariah Carey (the only two Christmas CDs we had) and plugging it in to light it up.

I must get a star for me tree now!!!!

To imagine I was almost too tired to get it today! When it was on my car and we were driving back I just wanted to pat it and grin at it and call it George. I named it George before we decorated it, but I think it's just Tree now, because all I can really do right now is squiggle around and wave my hands and yell, "Treee!!!!!!!!!" and jump up and down!

Hee hee hee! I mean, I am terribly sorry about the dead bulbs and everything, of course!

My tree also has a strand of dead bulbs (they worked before they were on the tree....), and not enough ornaments, and the ornaments all match too well right now! It is odd! Since I'm the only person at home who actually cares about the Christmas tree, thankfully there is no Right Way, and every time I start putting too much pressure on my family to be Christmas-y, I just end up disappointed.

So I try to just have fun with my ugly (but pretty!) tree and haphazard decorations and celebration. Plus... tree!!!!

*^^* Now I *really* want to go get our tree (it's our first time having one since we got married, and it's been a while since we had one at all. Last year we lived in an apartment that didn't allow it, and the two years before that we had to travel at Christmas. So I'm very excited!).

Yaaaay!!! This is only the second tree I've had by myself! The other times, I've been home in Taiwan for Christmas! It is nice, but I miss all the old ornaments.

Yay tree! My roommate is a Christmas-a-holic and the house is insane. There's tress everywhere and a fleet of nutcrackers and a host of santas and a flock of angels and Christmas village everywhere. I need to find a place to put my tiny snowman collection. Hee.

WOW!! My ex's mom was like that too (it was scary). My family is much more haphazard (aka, I am the only one who puts up the tree), so thankfully there is no Christmas pressure. I ruined my own Christmas once by being grumpy because no one was celebrating and am trying to never do that again because it sucked.

Oh dear, I guess your cats enjoy attacking the lower branches? I sort of want to stick my rats next to the tree to see how they will react!

Heh. We decided to try it with our six-month old anyhow, and, well, see icon. *g* She's climbed it three times, tried to eat lights, batted at anything we've put on....this will be interesting.
