Yesterday, after watching a somewhat unimpressive karate tournament (I don't usually say "My style is better than so-and-so's," but the way my style teaches kata really is better than the way that style does, if the tournament was anything to go by-- group kata needs to be perfectly in sync, and all kata should have clearly delineated changes in rhythm and speed, and should look like the techniques would hurt if they connected)I went to a Thai restaurant called Saladang Song and had soft-shell crab in wine sauce with asparagus (the asparagus was good, but the sauce was too sweet and the crabs were over-breaded and a bit fishy-tasting) and chopped, de-boned duck with baby bok choi over rice in sweetened soy sauce (that was delicious), with coconut ice cream with shreds of gelantinous young coconut.
