Advice?

Okay, so the cold seems to have morphed into an asthma attack. I haven't had one for years, so I have no inhalers with me. Urgent care opens at 8 (a little over four hours), and I will definitely go then, but does anyone know what emergency room signs are?

I can still breathe, and all my extremities are a healthy pink. I'm uncomfortable enough that I can't fall asleep, and I have to sit up. Also, any home remedies would be extremely helpful.

... though not sure who's awake right now...?

ETA: Ended up going to an ER because the thought of going for four more hours like I was was too painful. Am back now, with slightly more expanded bronchial tubes!

The obligatory voting post

I actually voted a couple of weeks ago by mail because there were a few local measures under consideration in my old county (as opposed to my school county) that I wanted to have a say on. In retrospect, this was an excellent idea, as asthma attack + no sleep + ER visit means I am in no condition to vote or stand in line in the cold and/or wet right now.

I feel like I should dig out the "I voted" sticker that came in the mail and wear it for the heck of it, but I think even that amount of effort will leave me short of breath, and I need oxygen to go to the pharmacy.

On the plus side, I can actually kind of lie down now and still breathe! Oh asthma, it's been so long since I've had an actual attack that I forgot how absolutely horrible you are. I have no idea how I managed to just suffer through multiple attacks when I was a kid before being officially diagnosed years later.

Due to me being sick, my roommate and I's election party has been canceled and I'm going to skip the one at school, but I will either be obsessively watching TV/refreshing the internet, or I will collapse thanks to sleep deprivation!
