Brief note

As with pretty much everything in my life, trying to keep things compartmentalized isn't really working out. I.e. real life is sneaking into my LJ, LJ is sneaking into RL (the second is not quite as frightening as the first, amusingly). And I linked my LJ with my real name in an online magazine and googled myself.

Part of me sort of regrets the loss of anonymity, the other part doesn't quite. Because the me on LJ is still me (hopefully not too foreign to those of you from RL who are reading this).

Anyhow, I'd still prefer people to keep my real name off this LJ for now, even though I have linked the two. Also, I'm f-locking more entries, I find. None of the book posts or movie musing or anything like that is locked; mostly if you can't read them, you're just missing me whining about a whole lot of stuff. If anyone from RL really wants to read them, get yourself to an LJ! Not as bad as a nunnery, I swear! ;) I don't know why, but everyone that I know in real life is on Xanga. Also, I know I'm on a bit of a friending hiatus right now, for which I apologize. It's difficult enough keeping up with the flist as is, but I do drop by people's LJs every so often to see what's going on. It's always strange realizing that people not on my flist actually read my LJ and lurk. *gasp* Heh, I say that ironically because that's pretty much all I did for an entire year on LJ.

But please, always feel free to drop comments, introduce yourself, etc. And if you don't have an LJ and comment anonymously, feel free to do that, though usually I'd really appreciate it if you left a screen name or name or something.

Just thought I'd mention that I wouldn't have thought to google if you hadn't mentioned it. Google has a lot of entries for "oyceter". Funny: I forgot your real name the moment the post comment page appeared (must be a new javascript feature), but will probably remember it once the comment is posted.

I like your comments about romance novels--I haven't read one in ages because I found myself so annoyed by some of the things you mentioned. But I may just check out the second-hand bookstore in my town and see if they have any of the books you recced.

I hope you don't mind if I add you to my friend list--your comments are good things for a writer in any genre to keep in mind, I think.
