Whew. I feel better now that I've sat down and folded laundry while watching figure skating on Tivo. Usually I'm a total lazy bum and leave my laundry in our dryer for days and days, so everything ends up wrinkled and ugly when I finally do fold it, but it was strangely calming to sit there and watch people twirling around on the ice while being elbows deep in clothes just out of the dryer, with that nice clean laundry smell to them. And seeing those people just fly past on the ice was beautiful, despite the extremely silly costumes.

I started skating very young maybe six or seven, as I add been skating for a couple of years before we moved to Cincinnati, and I know I was ten that year. The best was being given a pair of professional figure skates a few years back. They are amazing, so hard but amazing.. you can move just with the slightest shift of your weight.

I roller blade too but that came a lot harder for me because I had to do "like" with something slightly "different" but they are great for summer on the bike paths. I don't actually watch much professional skating anymore. I can get very trned off by some of the personalities, and the emphasis on jumps.

(Now laundry folding.. that's a whole different story!)
