The Olympics are so on crack. And by Olympics, I mean the entire men's gymnastics competition. To think I used to think men's gymnastics was the more boring cousin to women's gymnastics.

I still *heart* Aleksei Nemov, who was a crush item way back in 1996.

I need to catch up on comments and entries, but am still sort of stressing about upcoming interviews, sigh, sigh.

The parallel bars and the high bar? Yeah, that was....that was so bizarre. And poor Paul Hamm, having to wait and wait while the crowd screamed at the judges. And poor Morgan Hamm, who got shut out of a medal during a tiebreaker. And what was the diff between gold and silver in the women's for one floor exercise -- twelve thousandths of a point? That just breaks my heart. Just give them two bloody gold medals at that point.

Sports I enjoyed thoroughly and thought I wouldn't: men's 400m rowing (I think that was it) where the US just WHOMPED the competition, and beach volleyball.

Ian Thorpe, yum.

They robbed Aleksei Nemov of a medal and I can't understand WHY ... Poor guy! He was, however, unbelievably gracious and yes, I still lurve him. Also, Yuri Massina was pretty dang amazing himself, so I felt like he did deserve his gold medal.

I watched it on NBC again just cause the commentators amused me, and they sounded like they were going to DIE. One guy was reduced to shouting "Oh, no, no!" when the scores came up. And poor Paul Hamm -- talk about having to just put what happened out of your mind and go on with your routine -- Nemov was beautifully gracious, yeah. That seemed much more a case of "I came, I did my best, I know it was my best, medal whatever" -- which is amazing, cause, you know, Olympics.
