That is awesome. It would be even better if William were actually a cross-dressing woman who did so to get more freedom while investigating (we would get a reveal of Wilhelmina in gorgeously tailored forties clothes) and secretly pining for the prince. The prince, of course, is attracted to her but thinks he must hide it because he thinks she is a guy and because royal scandal!

And they would have lots of UST while investigating Gothic mansions, and the prince would tragically lose an eye in an emotionally wrenching scene.
