Spoilers for all four eps

Oh, I am so hooked now. I was watching out of respect and admiration for the craft before, slowly making my way through, but now I am so hooked. It's rather amusing that it took the departure of fan favorite Tom Quinn to do it, and it's not that I disliked Tom. It's just... stuff heated up! It was dramatic! There was angst that wasn't stupid spy angst about personal lives!

Also, it doesn't hurt that I adore Adam because of his ruthlessness and his scariness, which is the precise reason I adore Harry as well. And I adore Ruth just because she's, well, Ruth.

Strangely, I'm not quite as fond of Danny and Zoe as I probably should be. Danny in particular, but that may just be leftover bad feelings from him as an investment-banker-type character.

Anyway, the part with the cricket and Harakat was simply awful and wrenching, though I was a little confused about the timeline and didn't quite catch that Zoe's wedding story took place afterward.

Also, I wasn't that big a fan of their resurrecting Danny/Zoe, just because I've very much been enjoying the lack of romantic angst in the show, but that was resolved later on!

The episode with Harry's daughter was cool from a Harry-background POV, but I really didn't like his daughter very much at all.

The one with the assassination was an awesome one, though I was extremely, extremely scared that they were doing a "Zoe is pregnant!" storyline, which would have pissed me off and made me chuck stuff across the room, as it seems impossible to have a strong female character who isn't eventually hijacked by her ovaries.

And oh, the briefcase! And Adam's ruthlessness!

Also, it's sad that I don't even remember what episode it was in, but I love love love Adam's wife. Especially Adam and his wife as a spy team. And the signals! And the whole incredibly cold-hearted bit about siccing your wife on a stranger! But of course, that's how their strange, not-quite-dysfunctional relationship works. I really want to see more of them.

Finally... OMG ZOE! I love this show SO MUCH. I mean, it may have very well been a casting thing, but I love that I had no idea that it was coming and that it was a total surprise. Also, it finally made me buy into Danny/Zoe, particularly the final scene. I love how final the departures are because of the work they do, and I briefly imagine that Zoe and Tom will randomly meet on the street one day and form a friendship with their legends. Of course, this is probably out of the question...

But gah! Cannot wait for next DVDs to come in!

I went through the same emotions. When Tom was gone, I wasn't sure how much more I wanted to keep watching, but the writing is still fantastic, and it hooked me. It's rather amusing too that I had a friend in high school called Adam Carter who was very different from the great character on this show.

But "Spooks" does an excellent job of grabbing you and making you want to watch it all non-stop, even though the episodes are an hour long.

I'm all done with series four and await the fifth to start some time this fall, as of course it ended on a HUGE cliffhanger.
