The pumpkin, lit up. The weird thing on the side is supposed to be cheese. Unfortunately, it looks like the rat is trying to fly over the cheese instead of eat it or something normal.

I think it looks like the rat is quite sensibly trying to approach the cheese from above while perched on an artistically dark ledge. ;)

LOL! I like that. Although I was also sort of amused by flying rats. Mine (and rats in general I think) are good jumpers and Fool-rat used to jump several feet from the couch to his cage. That is, until I moved the cage because he kept doing that, and he didn't realize until after he jumped.

Aaaaand that was probably more than you wanted to know about my rats ;).

Mine too! I haven't had much practice. But the boy is very good. I suppose that happens when you carve one every year (I never carved them until senior year of college).

Ours is the grim reaper surrounded by flames. We cheated and used one of the stencils that came with our carving kit. ;) I'm trying to get Yishan to buy another pumpkin and carve a bunny on it, though.
