Sat, Sep. 24th, 2005 09:14 pmHelp! I am rapidly being addicted to Scrubs!
Actually, it is quite possible that I am already hopelessly addicted to Scrubs, given that I've watched about 7 episodes in two days and have a mad crazy crush on the snarky Dr. Cox.
I swear, it just snuck up on me while I was engrossed in Veronica Mars, and before I knew it, I was busily hunting for fic. Except I can't find fic, beyond a few stories. This is driving me crazy.
It's really odd, because even though Veronica Mars was totally occupying my brain space, especially after watching the finale, I have no real desire to read VMars fic. I even tried last night, but no use, I can't seem to get into the headspace. I think it's because I absolutely adore the show as it is; I don't have any crazy burning desire to see things that aren't already being portrayed on the show, and I'm not desperately crushing on or shipping anyone.
Don't get me wrong, I adore the show to pieces, especially Veronica herself, but there's something about the universe and the way that it was structured so that I don't need anything to fill in the chinks, so to speak.
Scrubs, on the other hand, is killing me because I desperately want fic, but I can't find fic. It's so odd because usually I don't go for sitcoms, but something about the snarkiness, the fantasy sequences, and the goofiness of the narration completely wins me over. Also, JD is so cute! In a puppy way, not hot way, and he's just so sweet and funny. But mostly I have this horrendously embarrassing crush on Dr. Cox right now, who is definitely not hot, but is snarky and sarcastic and horribly prickly with maybe a teeny-weeny marshmallow center and who treats patients without insurance even though it means he gets suspended. Um. Yes. I may actually have watched that episode twice already. In the past two days, even.
Also, Jordan has just appeared on screen for the first time (I've seen bits and pieces of the latest few episodes, thanks to Tivo, and just got the first season off of Netflix), and man, do I adore her. Snark to rival Dr. Cox! Snarkfests! The one person who can seemingly make Dr. Cox shut up! I can't believe I may already have an OTP. Gaaaah.
Anyhow, there are so many lovely holes in this show that I want filled. This isn't to say that it's a bad show, it's just that it's a sitcom, and it doesn't necessarily go to all the places that I might be interested in, and that it leaves me wanting more in the universe. VMars and Sandman left me so happy with the universe that I didn't actually want to have holes filled in, because I liked the holes that were left in there. Scrubs, however, has all these wonderful possibilities and bits of potential that I love (much like Buffy and Angel and XF), and I am dying to see them filled.
Huh. I suppose that's why I find some shows ficcable and some not. Interesting.
Actually, the main point of this was to ask if anyone had any Scrubs fic recs. Anything at all! Although stuff with Dr. Cox and/or Jordan would be highly appreciated. I am dubiously hoping, since I haven't found much at some fic rec sites, and because it seems to be a fairly obscure fandom. At least, I haven't seen all that much on LJ talking about it.
