Rat, knitting and food picture spam!

Giant food pictures

Heirlooms from my market! I think they're mostly white cherry tomatoes, black brandywines, a few ox-something tomatoes (the oblong green-red ones), and one or two pink brandywines. Alas, this is from a few weeks ago, since I missed my market last weekend, but hopefully there will be more this Sunday!

Peaches from my market! I can't remember what kind these are, sadly... mostly white peaches, with a yellow one.

Giant knitting pictures

The tops of my completed Baudelaires. I messed up the tubular bind off on the left sock, sigh, but am way too lazy to undo it.

Completed socks for me! Whoo! This is the first pair that I've finished for myself.

The Anastasia socks I started in Michigan with the Rockin' Sock Club Walkin' on the Wild Tide colorway. I didn't like the colorway that much on the ball, but I love the jewel tone magentas and purples and deep greens when the yarn knits up. Also, it's helping that my sock is striping and not pooling really.

A fuzzier picture of the Anastasia socks, but a better view of the colors.

Giant rat pictures

Bya grooms himself. The best part is when the rats try to reach so far around themselves that they slooowly teeter and then fall over on their butts.

I think I woke him up, oops!

Ruki's many adventures outside the bathtub! He is the naughtiest rat ever.

Ren probably wishes he could go beyond the bathtub, but he is too fat to jump. I know, because he has tried multiple times.

Ruki now trying to decide if he wants to go back in, or if he wants to keep exploring.

Keep exploring it is...

Yup, Ruki in the shower!

Ruki by the door! Sometimes he just sits there, waiting for people to come in or out.

Ren washing his ear. So cute!

The rats really are pretty good contortionists.

Bya, playing the part of a pancake.

I think Bya's cleaning himself while trying to keep Ren pinned down.

Gotcha! Bya is a big bully rat, though these days, Ruki is attempting to be alpha rat (ha! haha! good luck!).

A very confused Ren.

Help! I've fallen and I can't get back up!

I was scritching him, which is the only reason why he's still on his back.

The cute little paws!

SO CUTE!

That tomato pic is glorious. And your blue socks are really cool!

But mostly I want to comment to ask: do you have a separate bathtub & shower??? Or am I interpreting the rat exploration photos completely wrong? How cool if you do!

Awwwww. You have the cutest little rats! This might be a stupid question but have you ever read The Witches by Ronald Dahl or The Rats of NIMH? Those are my favorite rat love books.

Have you read Terry Pratchett's THE AMAZING MAURICE AND HIS EDUCATED RODENTS? Lots of good real-life rat lore in that one, Pratchett really did his research....

Oh, I like those Anastasia socks! (*quashes Rockin' Sock Club envy*) Is the pattern from the club or available somewhere?

Excellent - thanks! ^_^

Your ratniks are adorable!

Byakuya looks strangely evil in some of those pics.

I got the package! Woo-hoo! The kimono is GORGEOUS! Should I store it folded flat? I was worried that hanging it up would pull on the delicate parts. Also, should I trim the ties? They're a bit long.

Looking forward to your visit! I think we should take Jody for Din Tai Fung soup dumplings. Otherwise, start pondering all the fooding you want to do. Also, did I ever show you the La brea Tar Pits floating mammoths?

It fits perfectly! I think I may try knotting and then trimming; otherwise it would be very hard to ever unravel myself from the kimono!

OK, we are going to see the floating mammoths. You will enjoy them. Plus there's a nice breakfast place nearby, and it's on the way to Thai Town.

I thought I'd take you to Furaibo after picking you up from the airport. And we need to haul Yoon about town! Plus, there is good eating and bookshops in pasadena, where she lives.

Phone call: Is Tuesday or Wednesday good for you?

Anime: If you bring your laptop, there's lots we can watch. Otherwise... well, how about the Eva movie? We could play a drinking game!

PS. A present for you is waiting at [livejournal.com profile] edonohana.
