• And in happier news, Viz has licensed more anime: Nana, Ouran High School Host Club, and Honey and Clover (ETA: Funimation has Ouran)! I adore the latter two, and I am sure I will love the first as well. And it looks like Vassalord (by the mangaka of Loveless of virginal underage catboy fame) has been licensed as well. I am looking more forward to Vassalord, as it has vampires (presumably of age) and a robotic Doberman in a cape who has his own pet cat. devikun also notes that it's rumored that Silver Diamond has also been licensed.

Holy crap, I may have to check this out. I haven't watched new anime (er, by which I mean, new to me) in years (too expensive! too often disappointing! don't want to do netflix, etc.) but I might have to check this out. I am excited that Honey & Clover is licensed now too, b/c I downloaded the first two eps a while ago & liked 'em, but I really hate watching stuff on my computer & almost never can make myself do it. Heh.

Yes! Also, the robotic Doberman is in manga, so hopefully it is cheaper (though still not cheap).

I am so excited about H&C!!! SO EXCITED! It means I can pimp it even more! And then more people will have watched it and I can squee at them!

Anyway! I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Vassalord is by Kurono Nanae (who did Peacemaker Kurogane) not Kouga Yun.

i don't much like the term people of color. but on the other hand, here i am not having come up with a better alternative, and here i am not getting to choose what other people call themselves. so, i use it.

It took me a bit to get used to, and Tatum and others have noted problems with the terminology, but so far, I like it better than the other options that have come up. And, of course, it already seems to have been adopted as the standard, so it makes it easier to use.
