Rather annoyed at Salon's little write up on Angel ...

Wesley is the poor man's Giles?! What? Has Laura Miller not watched, oh.... anything past Buffy S3?

And I also have quibbles with the idea that the show has to be just like Buffy to be good, speaking as someone who really enjoyed the noir-ness and the darkness and the less-quippy atmosphere along with Buffy...

heh...

Yo, I totally just said that. Except with more words and much, much more grouchiness.

Hmm. If I want to watch Buffy, then I'd watch one of the episodes from the seven different seasons. I would not watch Angel in order to watch Buffy. Does she not grasp that different shows have different vibes and that this is a good thing?

Hee!

Actually, in that case, it's more like saying - "This tasty cheesecake shaped like a cat isn't meowing. It's broken." But a cheesecat doesn't need to meow.

Okay, wow, I've officially entered the land of the absurd.

I'm still stuck on the fact that I actually wrote "a cheesecat doesn't need to meow". That's either really deep, really silly, or really both.

Hee.
