More picture spam!

I found another stuffed animal picture that I left out of my preview post. I don't think he's too happy with me.

Crowley the Snake Crowley the Snake

This is Crowley the Snake. I feel explanations for the name are perhaps not necessary for those of you who've read Good Omens. Needless to say, there is also an Aziraphale. Unfortunately, Aziraphale the Snowy Owl resides with my old college roommate and is unavailable for portraits. Crowley used to sit on top of my TV and probably curse it in all sorts of interesting ways. I will blame my dislike of Alias S3 on him, along with sundry sound problems and picture ratio wonkiness.

Yay! [livejournal.com profile] fannishly likes my rats so much she takes pictures of them even when I am gone! See the power of their cuteness?

This is, quite obviously, Fitz-rat being really flat. The little pink foot sticking at the very end is the most amusing part!

Sometimes I stick my feet under my rats when they are sleeping because they're really warm and squishy. Fool-rat is glaring at me because I just woke him up and he's totally confused by the flash on the camera and really just wants to snooze away.

And I have finally finished a piece! And I can wear it!

I think my mom is right and my camera makes everyone look short and stout. Or so I tell myself! But focus on my really cute knitted top, not me! I made it! By myself! And I can wear it! And not look too dumb! Joy!

And here's the really cool back. Hrm, too bad I didn't realize I was wearing it all twisted when I made [livejournal.com profile] fannishly take my picture. But duuude... I have matered the yarn over.

Huh, I wonder what those red marks on my back are. I bet it's from the rats when they tried to clamber over me...

Oh the perils of rodenty pets.

I can make clothes! Lalalalalalala!

I am so impressed that you knitted that cute little top! I especially love the lace-up back.

Is Fitz-Rat really twice the size of Fool-Rat or is that just a weird camera angle thing?

A. and I are very impressed with your adorable top!

I tried to learn how to knit from a book last week and ended up crying in frustration. Will you teach me how to cast-on next time we hang? :)

I had a guinea pig when I was younger and she was my darling baaaaaby. Sweetest, cleanest, gentlest pet I've ever had. And the little nose and the whiskers and the squeaks and the little paaaaaws!

Post-college-dorm I will begin the pet-angst struggle of being a rodent-person AND a cat-person. I think I'll get another guinea pig or a rat; gerbils and mice are darling but so wee I'll be afraid I'll squish them (or lose them under a couch or inside a cat).

That is a seriously cute top. Rats are cute too, but that goes without saying.

That is a VERY COOL top, especially the back.

Yes, cameras make everyone look short and stout, most especially if there was a flash on teh camera itself - the light from the front of the subject is teh least flattering light there is, not to mention it leaches the actual colors out of your skin and throws completely unnatural shadows, and illuminates evenly, so the bits around your edges that are receding backwards are lit as if they weren't receding.

All of which is why I never say "No, it's a good picture! It looks just like you!" because when the person is looking at it and saying OH MY GOD THIS IS A HORRIBLE PICTURE and you say no, it looks just like you, you're telling them that they look just as horrible as they think the picture looks - and it does, except in rare cases, because ti's completely unnatural.

Plus I think the angle is a bit wonky b/c it looks like the camera was tilted down.

Yup. The brain auto-corrects for perspective and proportion in real life, but not in photos, for some reason. :)
