NYTimes article on ramen! I'm very jealous of the mention that good ramen places are popping up left and right there. Mmm.

And rat story in Yahoo News ^_^. Coolness.

My rats were incredibly excited over the visitors this weekend. I think they're a bit bored with me now. "You're not an interesting new person!"

Alas, Fitz-rat has also shown that he is much more enthusiastic than intelligent, poor rattie. One of the people who visited was having fun with him. He follows fingers around because he's used to me giving him food, and she kept drawing circles with her finger. And he kept running in circles! He never seemed to get tired of it. It was really pretty amusing, watching my little fat rat chase a finger around in circles over and over and over. Truly he is a good rat.

Fool-rat is more aloof and slightly more dignified. Fitz-rat is just plain goofy. Though right now Fool-rat is having a great deal of fun killing that monstrous threat to civilization, the paper bag, and ripping it into bitty shreds.

I'm not usually a huge ramen fan, but there's this ramen place in Little Tokyo that makes the broth with pork bones from kuroi buta (black pigs) which are bred in Japan, but are actually originally from England, where they're called Berkshires. Anyway, it's the most intensely flavored an delicious ramen and now I want a big bowl right now.
