Woo! My copy of Fray just came in the mail! I had totally forgotten I had preordered it, and I thought it was the package from Aliera.

Yay!!!

Mine came a few days ago. I read the whole thing in one sitting :)

I really liked melaka's physique. I understand that the slayer is supposed to be a regular looking girl, but it bugged me that buffy/smg was kind of on the scrawny side. You would think that with all that flipping and jumping and beating things up, she'd have better muscle tone.

I also liked that I couldn't pinpoint melaka's ethnicity... her features had a real "I could be any woman" vibe.

The part with the just cracked me up.

And Loo! That's all I'm saying. Loo! (I'm sure you agree).

The car and the squishing was just wonderful, and I could totally see Joss doing that in a live action show.

The idea that vampires just have a "social desease"... I think there's been people who have actually argued that point on the board!

All, in all, I liked it. I'm always in favor of things that expand a fictions universe. Despite my intense boredom towards how the Matrix trilogy ended, items like the Animatrix still give me a lot of satisfaction in watching.

Then he ought to tell people more often...

I haven't read Fray yet, but I've idly browsed through a few other BtVS/AtS comics, and I particularly remember the one where in the first image Cordy was shown with huge spherical breasts and a nine-inch insectile waist.

Not to mention the one I saw yesterday with Buffy fighting the Master in a minidress and apparently no knickers. And yes, these were professional BtVS/AtS comics rather than fanart ;-)

I think it's more a case of getting artists from the superhero tradition and not keeping a close enough eye on them to stop them from reverting to the worst of that tradition art-wise.
