Angel 5x21 Power Play

SQUEE!!!

I love my show ^_^.

The last ten minutes made the entire silly will-he-won't-he of the beginning totally worth it. That said, I was rolling my eyes at Fury or whoever decided to do the patented Alias show the horribly misleading thing first and then explain it by going several hours into the past. And I knew it was all a coverup type thing for Angel.

I wonder if they had that retcon of Cordy's kiss planned? That was awesome.

I spent the entire episode thinking of how differently Angel has been dealing with the problem of the institutionalization of power, as opposed to Buffy around this time in S7. Buffy was in essence pulling the sort of stuff Angel was, except when the Scoobies challenged her about it, the Scoobies were eventually proved wrong for arguing against the way she wielded power. And oh how I love the image of the AI gang making one last madcap stand against the Senior Partners. Angel's speech in a way reminded me of the muster of Rohan, of the sense that yes, they were doomed, but since they were, they would go down fighting every step of the way.

I'm so scared now that Joss is going to end up killing all of them.

You and me both, Oyce. I was so furious at the end of "Forever Knight". WHY did I invest in Nick's redemption and his relationships with people in season 3 only to see them all kick it?

But someone's gonna die, even if they don't all die. And I don't want to see any of the characters go. I'm sick to death of death.

Maybe it's good that's it for the Jossverse. He's blood-thirsty.

Frankly, I'm worried it's going to be Connor. Angel had a deal with the Senior Partners. He comes to work for Wolfram and Hart, they give Connor a new life. If Angel betrays the SPs by killing the Black Thorn, the SPs might decide he's broken his contract and take Connor's new memories and his family away, leaving Connor where he was in Home, more or less. And the presence of Cyvus Vail in the Black Thorn didn't make me feel any better. He could work some quick-ass mojo before he dies.

Looking over the whole gang, I think Lorne is the one I would least upset to see gone. It's sad, I don't want him gone, but he's been sort of peripheral since season 2.

Speaking of Cordy's kiss...

Thank you, ME, for confirming once and for all that that WAS Cordy and not a W&H plant! Phew! Such a relief!
