Bad me

I was a bad girl... To take a break from the on-going Stargate marathon, I walked around the block to the Tower Records. Turns out they have a fairly substantial bookstore inside, and I ended up buying Ellen Kushner's Swordpoint, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aliera9916's rec and a new Sharon Shinn novel. I can see having a bookstore right around the corner as being a very disastrous thing to my finances. Heh.

Stargate continues to be good, especially since I landed on an episode that was basically this giant two-parter all about Sam. Yay Sam!

I attempted cooking Chinese eggplant today, which didn't turn out too well. Oh well. I am the only one eating it, so as long as I don't poison myself, I should be fine.

Well, the one I got doesn't seem to be that new. It's called Summers at Castle Auburn, and I honestly have no idea what it's about.. it's got a pretty abstract blurb.

I do know that she does have a new Samaria book out though -- Angelica. Takes place before Archangel, talks about these strange people who appear and start burning campgrounds of people, and what the next Archangel and the angelica do. I liked it, but not as much as Archangel.

I always liked the second Samaria novel best - not that I didn't love the first one, but I really treasured that Alleluja and Delilah weren't antagonists but both likeable, interesting characters.

And of course that's the only one I haven't read yet! I actually read Alleluia Files first and didn't think that much of the series, but somehow, they grew on me. Kind of like Stargate...

Yipes! Hope all is well and also now feeling guilty about the book rec! You bought it yipes yipes! These things never go well for me.

On other topics... much kerfluffage online and at work Monday and today, so not posting much... buuuut, tomorrow I am off!!!

Trying to chill tonight, but dogs are rowling at me, so won't get much time 'til the morrow for surfing and repartee-ing.

Hey, one should never feel guilty about a book rec! And I do so look forward to reading it (after the other six library books, eep).

More kerfluffage? Hrm. I haven't been gallivanting around much online and I seemed to have missed it completely. If it's the Spike on Angel thing, there's a new LJ community up dedicated to Angel discussion sans-Spike. I joined, because Spikefan though I am, I am sick to death of kerfluffage...
