End of Buffy *sniff*

First: I'm really done with college... took my last exam today. This, coupled with the Buffy finale, is making me feel kind of funny and nostalgic. Eras ending, you know?

So mostly what I've done today is sit in front of my computer and read the numerous articles popping up everywhere (I especially like the Salon.com interview with Joss) and feeling weirder and weirder. Strangely enough, one of my foremost feelings isn't sadness about Buffy ending, but a kind of gleeful justification.

Ha! I say to everyone who's laughed at me or mocked me for watching something called Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Ha! Look at all the articles pointing out the numerous good points and cultural value and the general, all-around wonderfulness of my show! HA!

Yeah.. I think I mentioned to someone yesterday that Buffy was ending. And in return I got a "Well, good, you can finally get over this" in a kind of condescending, only stupid people watch Buffy tone.

So today I mock all the people who made fun of me for watching and laugh at them for never getting to watch things like OMWF, the Body, Hush, Becoming, and all those other great episodes.

Neener neener neener.

On the getting done college part. Are you at all excited about this? I remember myself not really quite believing it. I was very into college. I love learning, and I love academia, and I felt at home there. Plus I was very into "college life" stuff, I was on the council of my housing unit for three years and was president my senior year.

So when I finished everything and went through graduation and all that, it didn't seem real. It's like they had to kick me out of that place because at the time, it was *my life*. I had plans for after college, but they seemed unreal, so I half expected the world to completely disappear like *poof* when I took my graduation robe off.

Well, the world didn't disappear so I just found more higher education to throw myself into (9 years of graduate school) but eventually they kicked me out of that as well.

What are your plans?

As for "BtVS", well, ignore the nay-sayers and spend your time hanging with us on LJ and ATPo. We'll always have Buffy reruns to natter about endlessly. Plus AtS.

Well hey, if you do move to the Bay Area, let me know. I live there and there may be some board meets in the making this summer.
