Ok, considering how often I've been watching Good Eats, it's rather embarrassing that I'm only finding this now. But eeeeeeeeee!! So cool!! I want the salt cellar and the plunger things! I've been wanting the plunger things every single time he's used them on the show and he sells them!

Ahem. Yeah, Good Eats and Joan of Arcadia are currently the only two things I'm watching on TV right now. I may pick up Veronica Mars if the buzz and pimping continues, but who knows.

It's weird, but I'm somewhat of a mock-foodie. I love watching the shows, I love knowing the, er, knowledge, I really love eating the food, but me? Cook? Haha.

Saw this on my FL, thought it was cool -- it's a sort of Make A Wish for seniors.

The New York Times has now gotten me excited about Zhang Yimou's House of the Flying Daggers (limited release in the US in Dec.). However, my sister saw it when it came out in Taiwan and said the plot was really stupid, but Takeshi Kaneshiro was really cute (I think she is biased because her friend had tickets to the premiere so she got to see him in person). I'm probably going to end up watching it anyway because, squee, martial arts!

Dropped by the bookstore today to pick up things I had put my name on (Triplets of Belleville CD!) and chatted with people there. Still miss it. Went briefly to look at my old section, and gah, it looks like it has been struck by a hurricane. My poor section =(. Firmly resisted the urge to straighten everything up.

Hee, yeah. I think every girl in my school had a crush on him at one point when he was doing cell phone ads for Taiwan!

I enjoy Good Eats too. The Food Network is one of my staples on TV too. I love watching the cooking shows.

That is a thing. Forever and ever you will feel that urge. When I am at libraries, I have to resist the urge also. Sometimes I slip. Then I stop myself. Not my library.

See, I know if I got the salt cellar, I would have to get kosher salt. Except I never cook. So it would be silly.

I'm so mad I missed his signing here! But at least my boyfriend went and got my book signed, hee.

Totally in love with the Triplets! Thanks for reminding me to buy one for my husband--a DVD that is, not a Triplet, though I wouldn't mind having them around the house...

Hee, now I'm imagining the Triplets invading my apartment and the fridge.

1. Takeshi Kaneshiro is *very* cute. I looooove him and his muppet face. Chungking Express remains my favorite Takeshi appearance, though Fallen Angels is another excellent performance - I haven't seen too many movies where he's the sole star though. I hear The Returner is great cheesy post Matrix fun, so I might have to buy it at a later date. I can't wait for House of Flying Daggers - after finally seeing Hero on the big screen, it'll be nice to have another beautifully shot epic for Christmas (ah, LoTR, how I miss thee.)
2. Anton Brown is great. I loved watching Good Eats whenever i house-sat for my cable-owning friend. *G* Have you read M.F.K. Fisher's books? She loves food, and I love reading about her experiences with it - eating, cooking, the whole deal.
3. I own the Triplets of Belleville soundtrack, but have yet to see the film. I'll have to fix that soon. But....Aladdin just came out on DVD. no matter how much Disney sucks now, I really loved Aladdin.

I need to see more Takeshi Kaneshiro movies... all I really remember from him is that everyone in my high school was all over him.

I've actually had someone else rec me MFK Fisher as well, so this means I'm really going to have to pick her up ;). She had her own special section in the bookstore.

Triplets of Belleville was the weirdest, most interesting little movie ever!
