OMG. I have been down with this stupid cold for a good week now, after trying to sleep it off Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and I am still tired and stuffed up and my throat hurts so much sometimes that I dread swallowing. I just want to run around flapping my hands at it telling it to just let me get better kthxbai. Or at least let me breathe unhindered?
In other news, I wasted the entire weekend by sleeping through most of it and reading trashy books when I wasn't sleeping.

Does that mean we should postpone our dinner?

BTW, I seem to remember Zatar is cash-only, so you may want to prepare for that.

Heh, I keep trying to tell myself that, but it is hard to do when one is a grad student who should be job hunting. Blech.

Do you need someone to make a run for more juices/fluids?

Just regular sore, I've had good results from Throat Coat tea, which has horehound. Also, it tastes good.
Feel better!
Even though I don't mind at all reading your reviews of the romances you've been reading.

Thanks! What is spiky pain? Mine is mostly early in the morning and late at night, and it's the area around the tonsils that really starts hurting. It goes away most of the time, but the late night one kind of sucks.

I think anything that lasts more than 3 days warrants checking in with a nurse or someone - at the least, maybe they can give you codeine cough syrup, or something palliative.

ETA: My coughs went from horrible hacking for weeks post-cold, to less-horrible hacking for a few days post-cold. I can't say about the sore throat, because none of the colds I've had since I got it have had a sore throat more than one or two days. I cannot say if that is due to the luck of the draw, or the humidifier, but it makes me think it *might* help you.

Sleeping and trashy books is more fun when 1) you're not sick, and 2) your to-do list isn't chattering in the back of your head.
