Nakamura Yoshiki - Skip Beat, vol. 21-23 (Chi. trans.)

Spoilers

Kyoko trying to find a vase for her Queen Rose or whatever she called it totally cracked me up. Also, as per normal, I am still amused by all the arrows in Ren's heart and how Kyoko is slowly coming to terms with the fact that... Mr. Tsuruga may not hate her! *snorfle* Only Kyoko...

A lot of these three volumes were taken up by the new drama Kyoko's in, and while I normally get a bit bored by the acting sessions, I did like being able to see Kyoko trying to break out of Mio's shadow, as I think it's a problem a lot of actors face. I was somewhat unhappy with the scheming other girl (I forgot her name, returned the volumes weeks ago, and they were in Chinese anyway), but given how Nakamura has handled all of the other female relationships in the book, I wasn't worried much. And I cracked up when Kyoko mistook her for Moko in the end.

Oh! Ren teaching Kyoko how to model made me burst out laughing so much that Rachel asked several times what was going on.

Overall, an enjoyable three volumes that are a slight comedown from the high of vol. 20, but building up a new arc.

Everyone keeps talking about v20 -- I really need to catch up.

I am unhappy with the Beagle arc, myself. (Are you there yet?) Too much boy stuffs, not enough Moko! The premise is cute, though, and it leads to Ren goodness.

New manga arc

For the new manga arc (after the heel siblings) I think they should do one where Kyoko can't do the part because of a past event.
