Hey, I was actually tagged for a meme!

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now, shaping your spring. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they're listening to.

  1. David Cook, "Hello" - American Idol emo rock version! Awesome.

  2. Len Cariou and Angela Lovett, "Epiphany" and "A Little Priest" - "We alllll deserve to DIE! Tell you why, Mrs. Lovett, tell you why..." Uh, I have a black sense of humor? Plus, cannibalism and throat-slitting! How could that be wrong?

  3. The Lucksmiths, "Sunlight in a Jar" - So happy and cute!

  4. Imani Coppola, "Legend of a Cowgirl"

  5. Ikimono Gakari, "Kira Kira Train"

  6. Rumblefish, "Smile Again"

  7. Amelia, "Happy After All"

Not tagging because I am lazy.

I have not been blogging much about this online, but I got sucked into American Idol at last. It is strangely addicting, and I am a sad, sad fangirl of David Cook. On the complete other side, I have continued my binge listening of three different versions of Sweeney Todd, including the movie one, because I like movie!Toby a lot.

I may also be a sad, sad fangirl of Johnny Depp's speaking voice.

In other news, I have been gleefully watching both [livejournal.com profile] yhlee and [livejournal.com profile] vom_marlowe dipping their toes into the still but deep waters of knitting (pardon my horrible metaphors).

Oooh, you like Amelia too? I got that album a while back and really love it.

Do you have the whole album? There are a few others which are my very favorites.

Right now I think David Cook's likely to win it.

He's certainly ready, which I don't think the others are, yet.

It's possible he'll have a couple of bad weeks and blow it, but I would be more surprised by him doing that than any of the others.

It will be interesting to hear what they do tomorrow night.

Oooh, what versions do you have? I have the soundtrack because Johnny is yummy and I like his Epiphany best. But I also have the original broadway cast (hearing Angela Lansbury as Lovett is just weird because I grew up with her as Mommy Fortuna.) and the 2005? revival, which I do not like at all because the instrumentals seem WEAK compared to the other versions. I really do wish I could squish the broadway and soundtrack versions together though as I prefer the soundtrack voices, but the extended lyrics of the musical.

Yes! Movie Green Finch is the only one I really listen to. I think I like Depp's "I want you bleeders" and that is what wins it for me. I do wish they had kept the part about the privates in a Little Priest. I still haven't seen the original, though I got to see Sunday in the Park with George on vacation and loved it, so I would eventually like to see the real Sweeney.

Ahh!! You like Imani Coppola? I just had a full on fangirl squee when I read that. I mean, very few people I know even know who she is, so it's pretty cool for you to put that on your meme list. She is one of my favorite artists of all time. I saw her live for the first time about three years ago and have since become essentially a groupie. One of the most amazing performers I've ever encountered. She's doing a whole new act right now called Little Jackie, which you might be interested in. I like her own music better (she released an album last year that's great), but the Little Jackie stuff is clever and catchy and generally awesome. They have a myspace (myspace.com/littlejackiemusic). Okay, ending the fangirl gush, now :)

One day, we will take over the WORLD. With sticks.
