Did everyone who is not me know that M. Night Shyamalan is directing an Avatar live-action movie (or possibly one per season)? And if so, where are the news bits? Have they finished casting?

(In other news, yay! I have the Avatar S2 DVDs and am happily watching the extras.)

I knew! The last I heard, there's some kind of fight because James Cameron made a movie called "Avatar." Nothing's been cast yet, so far as I'm aware.

I've been keeping half an ear out for news of this, and I don't know if they've started casting--there isn't even an IMDB page for the film or a mention of it on M. Night Shyamalan's page, and you know how quick IMDB is about throwing up a listing for a film that's even hinted to be in the works. The most info seems to be up at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avatar:_The_Last_Airbender#Feature_film_adaptation), where it says it's going to be a trilogy of films, one for each season, and that the series creators are very positive about Shyamalan working on the project.

I saw it a while back, but it confused my brain enough so I think it short-circuited and I was just reminded of it again. Kind of the way that -- no lie -- every single time I see or hear a reference to Governor Schwarzenegger I have to stop and go "oh, god, yeah."

I am dubious. We'll see what actually happens and whether I'm willing to watch any result that may appear.

I knew, and am nervous as hell about casting. (M. Night is currently teasing some horrible-looking movie of his own right now, which is also why there's probably not much buzz about the Avatar movie.)

I'm sort of optimistic about him getting the world itself right-- the one thing I always like is his atmosphere-- but the kids. Oh lord the kids.

I knew. I have been trying to ignore it because I hated his last couple movies so, so, so, so, SO much that I have given up on him ever making a movie that is not painfully horrible again.

I love watching their martial arts guy demo the different styles on the DVD extras. And the actor doing Momo. And the actor who plays Zuko is seriously hot. I am considering stalking him.

You could start by watching the beginning of his acting career- as Rufio in "Hook" =P

Or if you've got a weakness for dance movies, you can see him more recently in Take the Lead (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riWIMO18NEQ). He's also in a band with his brothers (http://groups.myspace.com/thebascobrothers).

(I'm particularly fond of his Nintendo/Amy Winehouse parody... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQLZK6gtBsw))
