Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year everyone!

I am watching the partying in NY on CNN and it is so weird!! There are music acts and stuff and the guy is interviewing all sorts of random people. And the ball is funny looking too! This is all very strange!

I'm very excited ^_^. I've never seen any of this before. When I read about it, I always pictured the ball as some sort of giant disco ball suspended from a crane or something, and it would explode into confetti at midnight.

(Ooo, Playboy party! Strange.... Then apparently we get a segment on great kisses, for some weird reason)

It's all large and purple and studded with lights and it looks very, very odd. And it's stuck on top of the building on a stick! Like a shish kabob!

The boy and I went to Arby's for dinner, which makes me happy because I used to go back in Colorado. Plus, curly fries. And then we're going to watch Good Eats and Emeril on the Food Network. I am really addicted to the Food Network -- outside of Angel and Alias, it's all I watch of TV. The funny thing is the boy really likes Good Eats and Emeril too. He thinks Emeril is cool. I just love the channel because it's an entire channel on one of my favorite things, food!

Oooo the boy says they show clips of new years all over the world sometimes!

My sister went to the big party in Taipei last year while I stayed at home and "celebrated." Actually I was on the internet the entire time reading fanfic, go fig.

Whoa, the playboy girls are all in skanky underwear. They also have fake looking hair.

A little surreal?

To be completely honest? I've lived in Canada all my life, with access to TV that shows New York's big ball dropping (heh!) and I've never once seen it happen. Not that I care, but now that you describe it, I'm kinda wondering what exactly goes in to this big ball dropping... (Dirty, dirty!)

I've done the fanfic thing in years past too ;) But you sound like you're having fun with the boy. Happy New Year!

Did you happen to catch the fireworks at the Embaracadero if SF on TV? Quite spectacular!

They were on Channel 4 in SF

I've seen the ball drop i think 3 times. Once we were invited to my mother's best friend's house for New Year's Eve. That was the first time i bothered staying up until midnight. I was something like 14. I think we did that one other time a few years later. One time was this year, when i was invited to a friend's New Year's Eve party for the first time in my life. (And mostly we just chatted and listened to mp3s on her boyfriend's iPod.)
