Veronica Mars 2x06 Rat Saw God

2x06 Rat Saw God

Gaaaaaaaaaah!

*flails*

Cliff! Cliff is so fun! I loved all the Cliff scenes!

And Aaron Echolls! I can't believe they put Logan in the same cell as his dad! And oh, the smarminess! The justification! Aaron trying to weasel his way out of the fact that he slept with Logan's girlfriend!

And Veronica and Clarence Weidman! One's a girl detective, one's a high-tech security officer. They fight crime! Or, er, something. But they are cool! They must team up more!

Amelia in the ice was freaky.

Weevil! Weevil is back! Class tension is back! I can't believe they burned Logan's house, and Logan, evicting Weevil's grandma is just not cool. Dude.

And Keith threatening Aaron Echolls! I continue to adore Keith. And Keith finding out about Veronica and the dead guy! I so love the Mars family; they are scary and competent and I love that while Veronica is independent and strong, her dad is really cool with her and sets limits and everything.

Wah, I miss Wallace!

So cool!

Exclamation point!

Also, eh, what did Keith find in the bus? Was it indeed a dead rat? If it is, I am so traumatized!

Is that what the episode is called?

Did you read the book?

*clings*

This ep was so good I cower in fear. My poor nerves!

I thought I just saw some ripped up duct tape under the seat of the bus suggesting that a bomb had been taped there that subsequently went off.

I'm thinking that the rat in question was a person on the bus who'd tattled on something/one.

Of course, if I could get a hands on a copy o fthe book I might have a better chance of parsing the title.

The book doesn't relate, I think. Its title was a Dadaist catchphrase because it's a palindrome.

Rats Saw God is an early movie by Rob Thomas. Was it based on the book?

Movie? What I've got is a YA novel by Thomas called Rats Saw God, in which the title is explained as a Dadaist catchphrase. The episode doesn't have any links to Thomas' novel that I could see, or to Dadaism. He just likes putting in little references and in-jokes -- he's used the name "Wanda Varner" in both VM and the novel Rats Saw God, for example, but they're not the same person.

Brain fart! I thought it was a movie, but that's what I get for skimming thru a Rob Thomas interview far too quickly when I was supposed to be working.

Please ignore me ^^

Actually "God saw I was dog" or "Rats live on no evil star" are palindromes....in the book Grace Order of Dadaist is GOD, but I don't think the Dadaists had that as a catchphrase.

Ah! Thank you, I feel better now for not having read it.

Sorry, hon. Duct tape was holding poor dead rattie to the bottom of the seat.

Do you remember, in the bus, people kept saying, "What smells back there?" and coming up to sit at the front of the bus?

Well, it was because someone had taped a dead rat under one of the seats, and Keith just found it.

:o(

I love how you are worried about a possible rattie.

I had pet rats as a kid! Ratties are cute.

You heard about the singing mice? Maybe rats sing, too.
