The weekend report

Yay! There's another article on Miyazaki in the NYTimes (reg required). I haven't read many reviews of the movie, but I am going to see it anyway. Well, as soon as it comes out on the West Coast. Curse you east coast people and your urbane existence! ;)

I also got my American version of Spirited Away with Od Magic, so yay to more Miyazaki! Hee, I already own the Taiwan version, but unlike all the other Taiwan versions, it doesn't have English subtitles so I can't sic it on everyone I know. Er, yes.

I finished The Lost Steersman and am extremely irked because I misestimated the library closing time yesterday, so I don't have the next book in the series. Woe.

I may have finally shopped myself out with the giant trip to the mall on Sat. with my sister. But I have a clubbing top now! And another cute skirt, and a cheap shirt.. and... and... Oh dear.

Wah, my mom and sister and fannishly will be leaving on the same day! Sadness. I have no idea what to do with my weekend now. Maybe I'll be bummy and visit bookstores and stealthily read Saiyuki. Muahaha. At least there is a knitting circle scheduled for tomorrow night so I won't be too sad and lonely. And at least I finally got a mini-laptop for the living room, so I can sit there and read comics. Alas, the wireless isn't working with that one, so no concurrent LJ-ing and playing with rats, but I am working on it!

*Nod* of understanding. I did the same with Curse of Chalion this weekend, except my theory is they _changed_ the library closing time, or alternatively, it could be fate (wink wink) because I now see from the online catalogue that The Albany Public Library has Od magic and I am off tomorrow, whoot!, and I am saved from huge envy, bonus!

I may be the last person on the planet to read Bujold's book, I think.

This is unlike being the last person on the planet to finish the Star Wars movies, which leaves me entirely unaffected.

Hee! Yeah, I suspect the library of moving around their times specifically to boggle me ;).

And now that I made it to the library yesterday, I found someone else has gotten to my book first! Curses!
