Geh

So instead of editing my thesis or doing anything worthwhile, I revamped my LJ. Geh. Editing HTML takes sooooo long!!!!

But now I have a pretty ee cummings LJ! Hee. Go see: here.

Otherwise, the day was quite nice... got new books from the library (am finally going the read LJ Smith's Vampire Diaries because I've only read the fourth one), had a picnic on the lawn... very nice. Now I am tired and will go to bed.

Ooh, very pretty! Love the green and pink theme. Whatever font you're using for the poem is very cool, especially the white shading around the pink. And I'm quite partial to ee cummings myself.

I assume you need a paid account to edit HTML? Eep, another reason (plus 10 icons!) I should get a paid account. And maybe that would force me to learn HTML in the process :)

picnic on the lawn -- Mmm, sounds relaxing...

The final Vampire Diaries book is not nearly as good as the others, IMHO. It wasn't even originally meant to be written. (if you check some really old copies of the first three, they even say "A trilogy" on the cover) Not that I don't love it as well, but...eh. For me it's all about the volume III goodness.

I thinkt hat the final volume stayed in print for longer than the others, since it came out a couple years later.

Happy endings really aren't all that great. I agree, I think it would've been much more interesting if Thea had lost all her memories. And the witch thing with Poppy tied up some loose ends, but that whole scene of them suddenly deciding to not live off humans was sappy and...ugh. That's kind of how I feel about all the NW books--they would've been good if they were more dark. As it is, the world's supposed to be ending and you can hardly even tell.

The VD3 ending is much more satisfying (to me) than the VD4 one. But, of course, I'm biased and like my ending (http://www.panavatar.net/redux/) the ebst to begin with.
