Am taking frequent breaks from reading Checkmate because, oh, the angst!!

I didn't think anything would be quite so wibble-worthy as Lymond's "Long as I live, my heart will never vary" poem. Then I didn't think anything could be as heart-wrenching as Lymond's "But the songs were for her daughter. And the passion, for ever. That is why we are parting." and now Archie has just told Philippa to break him, and I am gloriously afraid of what comes next.

*wibbles*

This book is going to give me a heart attack.

Oh, dear.

It's really all far to fraught and melodramatic, but at least you get five books of build up for it. And the payoff (I think) is marvelous.

Man, you make me want to go home and reread the whole series. ::sighs, looks at Anna Karenina on the table::
