Carl Brandon Society is having a wiki-editing party on Wednesday in SF. (badgerbag says people there may be on chat too, for out-of-the-area folks.)

*

I am juggling my assorted reading lists and RSS feeds again, because apparently 70-some subscriptions was apparently still too much for me. If I unsubscribed recently and you have locked/filtered content that WON'T appear on my LJ flist, please let me know! Right now my criteria has just been my eyes glazing over, which usually happens when I run into giant blocks of text, a lot of video embeds, or fannish stuff I'm unfamiliar with. This is not a judgment! I am mostly trying to figure out a good system to group various things together so I know what to concentrate on instead of just skipping through everything without ever processing. Hopefully my reading capacity will get larger eventually—I still don't quite have the brain to read books either—but you never know.

*

New about me post up, with comment, privacy, spoiler, access, and subscription policies. I am sure I forgot something, of course, so feel free to let me know.

comments

I've been playing around with my subscriptions and juggling things between what I read on DW and what I read via my RSS reader. It is so sad that I feel like I can't even keep up with less than 100 people, but so it goes. As usual, every day here is de-subscribing/ungranting access amnesty day.

Also, eventually I will start to talk about books again! Possibly when I start reading again, ahahaha. I'm still trying to figure out why my attention span still feels shot for fiction; I haven't been able to hang onto manga or fiction, although apparently Mythbusters and non-fiction about germs and parasites are right up my alley. I wonder if it is because I am socializing more offline and thereby using up more of the part of my brain that keeps track of people there? No clue.

*

( Ratling babble! )

*

( General cooking and recipe notes )

( Recipes: sweet and sour pork ribs, nappa cabbage and fen si, meat and veggie dumplings )

Haha, hopefully all this typing in Chinese will eventually make me faster than the ten-second hunt-and-peck I do for every word right now.

comments

Hello! People may have noticed I did mass access-list adding a while back; I have always meant to give everyone access after DW's access/subscription split but didn't get around to it until now. Right now I grant access to anyone who either subscribes to me or grants me access. If for some reason you'd like access and don't subscribe to me or grant me access, feel free to comment and I will add you! I have just been using subscribers/access granters because otherwise I don't know who to add.

I will probably also eventually end up friending everyone on LJ as a means to grant access, though it might be (even more of) a while till I get around to it.

I also finally dismantled all my LJ filters because it was giving me a headache keeping it coordinated with DW. So even though everything is still being xposted to LJ, filtered entries are being xposted to empty filters. I.e. for practical purposes, you'll only be able to read filtered entries at DW. I really apologize for the inconvenience! I cannot plead anything except sheer laziness on my own part.

comments
