So You Think You Can Dance, S5 auditions and Las Vegas

Out of all my TV shows, this may be the one I look forward to the most...

It's just always so amazing watching the dancers, and it reminds me to start lindy hop again.

I skipped auditions last year because I was watching from Taiwan, and it's a lot to download, but I'm glad I watched this year. Usually there's a fair warning when it comes to the embarrassment squick section of the episode, and I can fast forward that while watching people's solos. I love watching the solos, and a big reason why I am watching this year is because I was so sad to miss some people's last year (Mark's Bohemian Rhapsody one, Will's).

I also get so much more attached to the dancers than I do for other reality show contestants. Why yes, I am still mad Will and Katee from last year didn't make it further, even though I love Joshua.

Right now I'm rooting so hard for Brandon and super sad Natalie ended up getting cut. There are two other male contemporary or maybe ballet dancers that I also love; something about the tight control that comes with "classical" dance really appeals to me. Sadly, I haven't noticed as many hip hop or ballroom dancers, but they may just not be showing them.

Also, we get another season in the fall? Awesomesauce! (Though wow, aren't the judges exhausted? The audition process looks so difficult.)

Brandon is my favorite! His audition solo was the best thing I saw so far.

I was sad at all the dancers who got cut, including most of my favorites! (Like the Asian guy with the hat and the black glasses and the super-quirky hip-hop (I think) style.)

I wish they'd shown everyone's solos. Will they show them next week?
