I feel as though I keep repeating myself, but this series is really just so charming! I can never decide who I like more: the ever-practical Rakan, who is unfazed by people falling into his garden but will whack someone for putting a foot on the table; Chigusa, who has absolutely no comprehension of human behavior whatsoever ("I'm trying to seduce you"); or Koh, who is already filled to the brim with awesome by virtue of being a talking snake.

And the plot thickens! I'm glad we're going back to Chigusa's world, even though I'll miss the easy domesticity of Rakan's house; I want to find out more about the prince and his protector and what they're doing.

Also, as mentioned previously, I absolutely love that Rakan decides he needs to feed the guy who just tried to kill Chigusa and then whaps him with a slipper for stepping on the table! And Chigusa gives up on bringing Rakan back so as to not disrupt his life even further!

I liked getting to learn more about the sanome, especially about Rakan's mother, and I hope the sanome girl in the seed is ok. I would love to see more women in the series.

This was my favorite volume yet. I loved that we got some answers to things and that Rakan was forced to decide he wanted to go to Chigusa's world.

Also, I love Narushige, too, and how he's constantly overcome by Rakan's cuteness and must administer a brotherly hug.

Yes! And I love Narushige's attempts to give emotional advice to Chigusa (clearly a doomed-from-the-start endeavor, yet someone must do it!).
