Avatar 3x12-3x15

Sadly, I do not have an Avatar icon, so have one of another kickass woman!

New Avatar, WHOO! Sadly, I forgot to blog eps. 12-13, so I am shoehorning them in here.

What I remember from watching eps. 12 and 13 months ago:

- newly good Zuko is the funniest thing ever. He apologizes to a rock! He imitates Azula and Uncle Iroh! And man, I love getting more Toph.
- Zuko and Aang training is also hilarious, and I love Sokka's "Sooo, if it's not a dance, what would you call it?"

Mostly I am just amused by good!Zuko!

Thankfully, good!Zuko continues to amuse me in this episode! He was so boring when he was all emo and angsty, but now that he is a fish out of water, it is priceless! I especially loved the Sokka and Zuko show. I'm sad Katara and Toph didn't get that much to do, but Katara gets a lot of episode time normally anyhow. Toph needs more though!

How to even start with how much I loved this episode? First of all... The Rock! OMG! You have no idea how many times I've watched that movie and how much I love prison escape movies! And this hit all the great bits, from the warden to the riot to the guards and everything!

Also, yay for the female guard.

And... SUKI! Yaaaaaay! I love love love that she's the one to take the warden prisoner while Sokka and Zuko were arguing.

And Mai and Azula and Ty Lee! And Mai actually betrays Azula for Zuko! And Ty Lee goes with her! I am soooo looking forward to where this is going, though I hope Azula doesn't die in the finale, as she is far too entertaining. Also, her using lighting bending to rocket up, clasp the handcuffs to the rope and zip over to the gondola? Made of win!

I should be more excited over the rescue of Katara and Sokka's dad, but really, I don't know him much as a character. I am more amused by Zuko and Suki meeting ("Yeah, you sort of burned down my village?" "Oh. Uh. Sorry about that...") and Zuko attempting to counsel Sokka ("It's like.. a sandwich. With silver inside. And you take a bite and eat it...").

Oh show, I missed you.

Yus! like that!

It was an awesome pair of eps. Well worth waiting for. I also loved how Zuko stayed warm in the cooler using his breath of fire -- like Uncle told him to way back in season 1! ^_^

More Uncle! More Toph!

Yes! The thing about the "You burned down my village" was that beat when Zuko goes still, then "Sorry about that." Just priceless.

Awesome ep. And Mai? She's so back among my faves.

"It's like.. a sandwich. With silver inside. And you take a bite and eat it..."

One of my favorite parts of the episode!

I love good Zuko too! I think partially because he's such a complex character and we get to see his journey to redemption, which I'm a sucker for if done right and so far it has been done very well.

Yes, yes! Mai's got that Daria voice down totally--when she turns on Azula I was shrieking with window-shattering squee.

Oh yes! Ty Lee took me TOTALLY by surprise. I hope those girls get some major action coming up.

I was little surprised that Mai and Ty Lee were captured so quickly. I'm pretty sure they could have held their own for a while. Unfortunately, it is true that they perhaps had nowhere to retreat to, and thus would have recognized that fighting was useless (unless they took Azula hostage), but the episode seemed to imply to me that they were simply captured.

*grump*

Yeah, the U.S. broadcast schedule is deeply disappointing.

Zuko has always been a dork but now it can been even more clearly. And I love it. *snickers*

Mai! With her knives! And standing up to Azula finally! I'm reminded of why I love her so much.

Sokka and Zuko are hilarious together.
