Also... why didn't Mr. Bennet try and contact Bob, since Bob has helped both him and Claire before?

I'm not sure how he would. I mean, I presume he dumped all his old contact details when he ran off with Claire. Plus he seems to be with the Linderman/Petrelli group. Although who knows?
